Mr Grahame Larkin is Consultant General Surgeon with a Special Interest in Hand Surgery. Medical school and surgical training were undertaken in Germany, where he completed his specialist training in General Surgery before going on to do further training in Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery in Hannover, Aachen and Bonn. In 2004 he returned to England to gain further experience in Hand Surgery at the University Hospital of North Durham and at Salisbury District Hospital.
He has the German Specialist Certificates in General Surgery and Hand Surgery and achieved the European (FESSH) Diploma in Hand Surgery in 1999.
Mr Larkin worked at one of Germany’s leading hand clinics in Bonn for 10 years and has now been working in hand surgery for over 20 years. He has been with Care-UK as a Consultant General Surgeon since 2007. He also has practising privileges at the Day Surgery Units in Cobham and at Epsom Cottage Hospital. Mr Larkin recently opened a private practice in Stuttgart, Germany, where in addition to his work in South-East England, he is now holding clinics and operating at the “Klinik auf der Karlshöhe”.
Mr Larkin has written a number of journal articles and book contributions on hand surgery topics, dealing in particular with hand trauma and carpal tunnel syndrome. Regular participation at national and international meetings and congresses guarantee that he keeps abreast of current developments in the field of hand surgery.
